How many blessings in Life have we missed out on simply because of how we perceived it? You hear it all the time that “life is what you make it” or “believe it and you can achieve it”. For the most part, I can agree with those sentiments but what happens when the Way/ve you’re chasing isn’t what it seems? Sometimes we build up a job, a career, a place, even a person and those things are not what we expected. It then causes frustration, because of the time and emotion we invested in something that didn’t pan out. So how can we find that discernment and make the clear cut choice that will be the most beneficial across the board? There are times you can do all the research, do all the leg-work everything humanly possible to make a situation work and it doesn’t. I’ve gone through this in one form or another more times than I can count and all because I didn’t look at the situation the right way.

“To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight,” -Proverbs 1:2-

After High school, I really had no clue what to do with myself aside from going to college and getting a job. That’s just the way it was supposed to go in my mind, so I did those things and neither one turned out the way I had anticipated. Massage therapy was not what I thought it would be, there was far too much none related readings and no hands-on practice. That just wasn’t going to fly but I stuck with it hoping the next semester would be better and….. nope same deal. At that point, I went and got a job working in some factory in Greenpoint and it was actually a cool job except for the fact that the pay was horrible. For the longest time that all I heard was go to college or get a job, so I believed that’s what I had to do. My perception was based on what was around me and I conformed to the standard instead of using my gifts to excel. I have always had a perception of doubt when it came to my abilities. If it was someone else I would believe in them wholeheartedly. Maybe it was because I kept hearing that what I wanted to pursue wouldn’t be profitable. Constantly hearing negative reactions about my dreams steered me away from them. Essentially putting God and his purpose for me on the back-burner. Big Mistake. If there is a pull for you to do something out of the ordinary that most people say not to do, do it. Go to God and ask him for the wisdom to use the talents he’s blessed you with. Don’t allow other people’s perception of your gifts to become your own. Once doubt sets in it can become very difficult to shake them off no matter how Teflon we may think we are.

“And he is in all things, and in him all things hold together.” -Colossians 1:17-

So many situations are placed in our path and our first reaction is usually very telling on how it will go from that point on. I’ve made it a point to look at everything as an opportunity to glorify God and help others. L’s no longer stand for losses in my book they stand for lessons because we should learn from every failure we face. Then those lessons become a part of your testimony that could help someone change their perception of a struggle they might be facing. From burdens to blessings is not always an easy transformation and that’s where my faith in Jesus holds firm. Going to the Lord for wisdom has helped me to see the upside in most situations. Those classes I took in college helped mold a lot of my gifts, that job in Greenpoint taught me about fortitude. Lessons. If we don’t shift how we view this life things can get rather depressing real fast. That is why I am glad I am getting know God the way I am. He is the right teacher to learn from when it comes to perception.

“When the spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” -John 16:13-

The world as it is today, it is full of people who have a negative outlook on life. That is a hard way to go through life on a day to day basis and it will show in your attitude. Changing to a positive point of view is not easy but it is possible with the help of God. He will always guide you to a prominent place in your life. Will it be tough, of course, anything worth it will be. Gaining true insight through God’s teachings will help you see the silver lining in any situation.

Thank you for reading today, I appreciate you and your time. God bless and don’t forget to Chase Your Way/ve.

So good. I stand in agreement with you. It’s wasn’t until I began to cultivate a relationship with Jesus that my perspective to changed. Thank you for the encouragement.
