First I’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year!. I know last year was a strange one, but here we are by the grace of God. I for one am happy that last year has given me time to grow spiritually, mentally, and physically.

As 2020 came to an end, I couldn’t help but wonder if I’d done enough to advance God’s kingdom. Have I given what I should? Not just with tithing but with my talents and skills. We as Christians are meant to use our blessings to bless others. Through us as image bearers, others should see Jesus’s love. I have been led by the Holy Spirit to make a lot of changes and decisions last year and no matter how uncomfortable they might have been I followed through. When it comes to giving all I should have to help further the kingdom of God the father, I feel I have been seriously lacking. I feel like there’s so much more that could be given and not just monetarily. I could give more time, more words of encouragement, more love. It might come off as a cliche to write about giving directly after the holidays, but Bah Humbug to that.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

-2 Corinthians 9:7

In early December, my wife came to me and said she had been convicted to help some people who were less fortunate. For months she was looking for a way to reach out, so when she came up with the idea of creating blessing bags it made my heart smile.

It was some essential things that we figured could be needed and a handwritten card in each bag. Each card said something different, but they were all about reminding them that they are loved by someone. Loved by Jesus. Often times it seems that we take for granted the things God has blessed us with, not realizing that there are families without anything to call their own. So how can we say we are believers in Christ and not do what he has asked us to do? I have never been shy about giving to anyone less fortunate, because let’s face it, anyone could end up in similar position. A few wrong choices could be all it takes.

“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. “ -2 Corinthians 9:6-

Truly Selflessly giving is not something that is often promoted, but it should be it’s an amazing thing. Like I said earlier, it’s not just money that should be given, letting someone know that they’re not alone. Telling them that Jesus loves them, even saying “hi” can be a blessing. These kinds of acts don’t go unnoticed for long, especially by our heavenly Father. In time, all good things come back around according to God’s will. Is giving going be a Way/ve you ride this year?

Thank you for taking time to read this blog today, as always you and your time are appreciated. God Bless and never stop chasing God’s Way/ve.

This is good stuff man! I ask myself all the time, God, there’s more to life that this! You keep blessing me, and I’m not giving more! What do you want me to do with the life you’ve given me!

This past year, I’ve been blessed in ways I’ve never had been before. This cannot just be for me, but to bring others up. I pray that God will allow me to use the space I have now to minister to those who would listen!

Thank you so much for sharing!

It’s always good to give without any thoughts of what one will receive out of it. Just the show of appreciation from the receiver and thought of making God’s creation a better place, another great article brother.

This is really good Ralph! My wife and I had an opportunity to give out care bags for the “Gift for Christmas” campaign a couple months ago, and that experience really blessed us. Being God’s hand extended to others that need help is humbling as well as refreshing.
