I know it all too well,
Questioning if you’re special or even needed,
Deep inside sadness swells.
Further and further, you fall into the sunken place,
You feel like there is no one to talk to,
But the pain is written all over your face.
Not knowing where to turn, no one to help you,
That sadness turns to anger and rage,
Who can you tell without feeling like a fool,
There’s not one person who can read you; they’re not on the same page.
Those feelings of pain, those feelings of dismay,
To its last ember, you want the world to burn,
You’ve become a world eater, unhappy until the earth is razed.
These feelings manifest the unhealthy and unholy thoughts of suicide,
You’re feeling unworthy, useless, and directionless,
You don’t want to be here anymore, it’s getting harder to hide,
Any situation causes large amounts of stress.
All the while, unseen to you are those who intercede on your behalf,
reaching out to the source of LIFE and LOVE,
PRAYING and HOPING that you listen to GOD calling you back,
Understanding that life is difficult, yet keeping their eyes on things above.
Yes, those voices are real, the ones tugging you one way or another,
You’re not losing your mind; there is a battle for your soul,
Spiritual warfare is a constant fight, but it’s winnable when we give it to someone stronger.
Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE; only through HIM are we made whole.
There will be times when it feels like nothing is going right,
You feel like you have no will, no strength,
Then you receive the miracle of endurance, and you go on toward the light,
Faith the size of a mustard seed, now even steel can be bent.
Oh Lord, we receive your gift of salvation,
No longer bound to the world that held us in subjugation,
Sin and death have no power here, and they never will again,
Thank you, God; we are forever changed, never again to be the same!
“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light..” Matthew 11:28-30
