Show me your face, Lord!

Show me your face!

I’m afraid that the spark in me will die before I can finish this race.
Life is becoming a mishmash of circumstances that I can’t overcome,
But You said I’m never alone—so help me, God, tell me what needs to be done.

Show me your face, Lord!
Show me your face!

I have to be honest with myself and with You.
I’m not really looking, and that’s the truth.
Because every time I’ve come to You in earnest, You’ve shown up and shown out.
Yes, my God, it’s true, and the Brooklyn in me says, “No doubt.”

So why is there doubt? What’s wrong with me?
Show me your face, Lord.
Show me your face!

I know what it is—recently, I haven’t opened my Bible to renew my mind.
I’m walking around like, “God on Sunday was enough; I’ll be fine.”
But here I am, stressing and struggling, lost in my pride,
Forgetting that daily, You walk by my side.

Your Word is a lamp, yet I’ve been stumbling in the dark,
Worn out, weary, feeling far from the spark.
But You haven’t moved—it’s me who’s strayed.
Still, Your mercy calls, and Your love doesn’t fade.

Show me Your face, Lord!
Show me Your grace!
Let me return to the secret place.
Not just on Sundays, but every day,
Seeking You first—Lord, lead the way.

I lay down my burdens, my worry, my fight,
For You are my strength, my truth, my light.
No more half-stepping, no more delay,
Here I am, Lord—have Your way.

Show me Your face, Lord.
I’m ready to see.
Not just with my eyes—
But deep within me.
